हमारा उद्देश्य
गृहवाटिका इसलिए है कि भारत के हर घर की पहुँच में एक जीवित पौधा हो — और वह सही पौधा हो।
We document indigenous and naturalised Indian plants in plain language, and we teach people to grow them in the space they already have: a sill, a balcony, a shared terrace, a strip of pavement.
The work sits on three claims. That a home which grows some of its own food eats better. That a street with native plants holds more life. And that a child who has watched a seed open argues differently about the environment for the rest of their life.
What we hold to
- Indigenous first — native and naturalised plants before ornamentals.
- Free to use — every guide and plant record stays open, in English and Hindi.
- Checked, not guessed — botanical facts are reviewed; traditional uses are labelled as such.
- Local knowledge counts — gardeners contribute what works on their street.
