The plant count below is read live from the library, so it cannot drift from what is actually published.
We publish no other figures yet. Numbers for gardens, households, schools and children will appear here only once they are counted against the definitions below and can be substantiated on request — an unverifiable number is worth less than none.
How we will count
A home gardener is counted once they register a growing space and report a first harvest. A school is counted after a full term of sessions, not a single visit. A community garden is counted once it is planted and has named people maintaining it. Plant records are counted only when a botanist has verified the entry.
