What your money buys

Roughly two-thirds of what we receive goes into plants, soil, pots and seed for school and society programmes. The rest pays for printing the guides we hand out at workshops and for translating them into more languages. Nobody here is paid a salary out of donations.

What a gift does

₹500 plants a classroom windowsill. ₹2,000 runs a weekend workshop for a housing society. ₹5,000 sets up a school growing corner with a term of lesson plans. ₹20,000 funds a neighbourhood garden through its first season, from empty plot to first harvest.

Ways to give

One-off or monthly, by UPI, bank transfer or card. Monthly giving is the most useful kind — it lets us promise a school a full season instead of a single visit. Write to us for account details or an invoice.

Give something other than money

Seeds and cuttings, a nursery discount, a venue for a Saturday workshop, translation of one guide, photographs of plants for the directory, or a few hours a month keeping a community group alive. All of it counts, and all of it is credited.

Receipts and reporting

Every donation gets a receipt. Each year we publish a short account of what came in and what it grew — numbers of plants, workshops and schools, not vanity metrics. Ask and we will send the current one.
